No. We use Apple's on-device speech recognition. Your audio and transcription stay on your iPhone. iCloud sync (optional) only syncs the final text and is end-to-end encrypted by Apple.
Does it work offline?+
Yes. On-device recognition works without a signal — tunnels, rural roads, parking garages. AI cleanup requires an internet connection.
How do I use Hey Siri with Car Notes?+
Just say "Hey Siri, add a car note to Car Notes." No setup, no custom shortcuts needed. Siri opens the app and starts recording.
Does it work with CarPlay?+
Yes — a single giant record button on your car screen. Siri integration also works automatically in any CarPlay context.
